They should have everything that gets recorded by black boxes in airplanes streamed and saved digitally to some data center somewhere, so that (i) black boxes don’t get lost and (ii) investigators don’t have to wait until they find the black box in the wreckage to figure out what happened.

Update: Watching coverage of the plane crash in Kentucky on CNN in my hotel room. The guy that they interviewed from the scene referred to sirens as “sirenes.” Reminds me of Oh brother, were art thou?

The cool thing about being in EST is that I know the news before all of my friends back east.
