What I’m up to

Wow, I never thought I’d be so busy that I wouldn’t have time to write on my blog. Here’s what is, should and will be going on for me right now.

-> I have a ton of reading to do. It falls into two categories: (1) Reading for class — dense lecture notes on linear algebra and constrained optimization, and (2) reading for research — papers on the economics of discrimination and identity, as well as other interesting research.

-> I’m still trying to do all of the administrative stuff that I need to get done, like getting a parking permit, getting all of my paperwork for school in order, etc.

-> For fun, I’m hoping to go to a play tonight. It’s called Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Here’s the summary:

In this dark, gritty interpretation of a childhood classic, audiences join a Catholic school girl named Alice as she wanders through a city of questionable virtue. Along the way, she encounters a host of re-imagined, real-world counterparts to Carroll’s classic characters, including a skater punk, a victim of Alzheimer’s Disease, a drug-addict with a smile that just won’t quit, and a dominatrix with her own bondage club. Not for sensitive audiences.

Sounds cool, no?

-> I’m trying to set up my computer(s) so I can VPN into the schools public file storage so I don’t have to worry about carrying laptops to and from school.

-> I’m working up the nerve to go to the gym.

Other than that, I’m trying to avoid sleep deprivation, find an occasional cup of coffee, read the paper and enjoy my life a little.
